About the event

Charlie Nardozzi will speak on the subject of his new book. He will highlight how to create a self-sustaining food garden designed to produce a continuous harvest that sows and grows itself. He will discuss letting crops like lettuce, spinach and kale go to seed so they naturally re-sow for the next cycle and growing food that returns year after year such as horseradish and rhubarb. Charlie learned about this technique from a radio caller many years ago. The caller claimed that he sowed his lettuce seed on top of the snow in March and it always germinated faster and better than his May-sowed seeds. Charlie didn’t believe him at first, but then he tried it and it worked. Which started him down the road of self-sowing vegetables, herbs and flowers.
