Sheldon Museum Public Gardens

The Middlebury Garden Club plants, maintains and designs the historic grounds at the Henry Sheldon Museum from April through October. Volunteers handle weekly watering, weeding, and deadheading, host seasonal garden work parties, and curate a public green space featuring local art for the community to visit and enjoy.

Helen Porter Rehabilitation and Nursing Floral Arrangements

The Middlebury Garden Club conducts a community service project at the Helen Porter Healthcare Rehabilitation Center where members work hands-on with residents to create fresh flower arrangements.

Monthly Floral Arrangements for the Residence at Otter Creek and Ilsley Library

The Middlebury Garden Club provides The Residence at Otter Creek senior living community with a fresh floral arrangement or a potted plant every month of the year. They also host free educational gardening lectures for residents and the public to enjoy.

Holiday Decorating Ilsley Library/ Bixby Library

The club brings nature inside by crafting holiday greens and winter displays to decorate the library space. They also create holiday arrangements which are delivered to local libraries.

Spotlight on Gardens

The Addison Independent features a “Spotlight on Gardens” section in its newspaper three times during the growing season. This section showcases up to three photos of exceptional gardens within the Addison County area that are in full bloom. These gardens are discovered by our club members.
